Celebrating four years at dA, I have decided to run a contest that combines my passions for portrait photography and urban exploration. The topic is: PORTRAITS IN ABANDONED PLACES.
Here are some fine examples for great portrait photography in decaying locations:

RULES
No contest without rules, so here they are:
1. The category is photography. Digital editing is acceptable for color / contrast adjustments, clipping and frames, but no textures, brushes or background editings. HDR is ok.
2. Please stick to the topic. The entry must be a portrait, that is, a person (or a group of people) must be the main content of the picture. And it must be shot in an abandoned place (old factory, empty house, anything's fine).
3. The photo must be new (submitted after Feb 1st). And only one entry per person, sorry.
4. No nudity, explicit violence or gore. Dark art is fine, though.
5. Deadline is April 30th, unless I receive more than 50 entries before that date.
6. The winners will be decided in two steps: First there will be public voting, and Lilywen, penumbrous-world and I will pick the three winners from the Top 10 from the votes. There might be honorable mentions as well, depending on the quality of the entries.
7. The most important rule: HAVE FUN!
If you would like to participate, just send me a note with a link to your entry. All entries will be featured in my journal for the duration of the contest.

Back with a feature
It's been a while ... I know. The reason is as simple as wonderful ... I met someone very special, so my time outside work was pretty much booked :D Anyway I haven't forgotten you, and I want to thank all my new watchers ... I will look into your galleries, and if I find something I like, I will feature it here ... well here's the first round anyway:
:thumb129512861: :thumb121235412: :thumb155837446: :thumb154977678: :thumb153544425: :thumb72852822: :thumb150864149:
Some of most favorite favorites ...
I am sure you have some deviations among your faves that you like better than others. And maybe some that caught your eye the moment you saw them, and you can still not thing of anything remotely as brilliant after having seen many others again ... well here are some of my personal best-of-the-best ... there might actually be more than these, but for now I'll post just one per artist ...

There will be more some time ...
Dramatically underappreciated - Feature Part V
After working 13 days in a row I feel like I need another 13 days off before awaking from my semi-coma state ... anyway, there are still so many underappreciated artists here, time to feature some more:

Dramatically underappreciated - Feature Part IV
It is time once more to feature artists whose work has not yet received the attention it deserves ...
I'll start with the spectacular works of kpavlis (https://www.deviantart.com/kpavlis) ... can you believe that guy has less than 400 pageviews?!

lulasailor (https://www.deviantart.com/lulasailor) has some excellent b/w street and portrait photography:

last but not least, a new deviant, jaquesmayol (https://www.deviantart.com/jaquesmayol) who is having a very promising start here:
